Not real crazy about them:(
I am a get to the point kinda of gal, and I have to be very careful about how I word things. Sometimes to many words are just overated. When I was younger I had issues with this, but as I have gotten older, I am more aware and work very hard to "watch how I say things." I am good at speeches now, but not real crazy about peer reviews, especially on discussion boards. The thing about peer reviews on a computer is their are so many different types of people that we have to interact with that are basically strangers. So even though you are doing an assignment, you know that these people are really working hard to do good, and some people have a hard time with peers telling them something doesn't look right. I am the opposite though, I want someone to get straight to the point and tell me what is wrong so I can fix it. I look at it as another learning tool, to help me reach my goals. So I guess, I like peer reviews when they are reviewing me, but don't want to give a peer review for fear of offending someone.

lol,it is good to see someone is like me, just tell me what is wrong so i can fix it. i actually get my feelers hurt sometimes on these peer reviews, but i try not to take it personally. and i try to be nice, since composition is not really a strong subject for me, i can pick out misspelled words, and needs a comma in the in-text references. and the needs an indented second and third lines on the reference page. or that a paper needs to be double spaced, and such. but one thing i wonder about is why on word it says passive voice, consider rewording? why is that bad? glad you got your unit 6 turned in, i got mine turned in, but i still have more to go. i didn't get everything that was in my outline covered. i try to start at the beginning and write my way through my outline, i was still writing about the guide dogs for the blind, when i had to turn it in, i had just gotten to the miniature horses trained as guide's for the blind. i have 3 books i have to get read before i write the rest of my paper, 10 weeks is so short when i have more than one or two books to read to get my paper hammered out. :) see you on the d/b!
ReplyDeleteThis may sound cold but should someone get their feelings hurt in the peer review that is their issue.
ReplyDeleteNow if someone would say something like "this paper sucks and so does your mom!!!" then yeah I can understand getting your feelings hurt. But the person review the paper is a jerk and should be ignored.
So don't worry about hurting feelings. Just do what you do.
